Travel Now: U.S. Passport Day This Saturday, March 27

US-Passport-Day-2010The U.S. government wants you to travel internationally. Enticing would-be and first-time travelers to apply for passports, the Bureau of Consular Affairs has chosen this Saturday, March 27, to be the second annual Passport Day in the USA. Who knew? Generally applying for a passport means first making an appointment online and figuring out how to block off a few hours in the middle of the day during a work week (passport agencies are open M-F, 9am-4pm)–not exactly fun. No wonder why less than a third of  Americans have passports. Passport Day makes it a bit easier with no required appointments and weekend availability.

Although we have thousands of hotel deals in the U.S., some of the best hotel deals are in countries that do require passports—so get yours now (or tomorrow).

If you missed passport day and you need to get a passport in a hurry, I recommend using an expediting company like RushMyPassport.com. My nearest passport office is like, a day away by car, so I was really grateful that they were able to submit my application for me and get me my passport in just a few days.
