Palo Alto / Stanford Deal: Rosewood Sand Hill Offers Best Prices on WeekENDS
This Menlo Park hotel is one of the only luxury Bay Area Peninsula hotels—and one of the few that could be classified as a resort. Conveniently located off business park-lined Sand Hill Road (which leads to both Stanford Shopping Center and Stanford University), Rosewood Sand Hill
could easily be deemed a business hotel based on its location alone. However, it’s not all venture capitalists here: add on five-star service, a spread out layout and a large pool area that is somehow reminiscent of the main pool at Napa Valley’s The Carneros Inn
, and the property transitions from hotel to resort. Hence why you can easily find less expensive—and weekend only—hotel deals at Rosewood Sand Hill. There’s no wonder why Sand Hill coined itself “an urban oasis of casual luxury.”
Rooms: Like all of Rosewood’s properties, rooms are inspired by the local surroundings, which for this NorCal property means simplistic, earth and sea-toned designs. Every room—including the standard Deluxe Room—comes equipped with impressively large walk-in closets adjacent to even more
impressively sized bathrooms. Don’t expect to stock up on take-home toiletry amenities at this hotel (Rosewood Sand Hill’s toiletries are green-friendly by being full-size and refillable).
Restaurant: Foodies will appreciate having a gourmet restaurant on-site. Madera uses all sustainably harvested and produced food (herbs are from the on-site herb garden), so you’ll find an eclectic California-inspired menu from Executive Chef Peter Rudolph, like roasted baby beet and orange salad or winter squash and wild mushroom farrotto. We heard that the beignets with blackberry honey are heavenly.
Spa: Rosewood Hotels focus on luxury is just as much on their spas as it is their rooms. Sense, A Rosewood Spa® at Rosewood Sand Hill is astonishing large at 13 treatment rooms, with attention again towards large bathrooms and changing areas. Try the brand new, exclusive-to-Rosewood Sand Hill,
“Gold Rush” treatment that will leave your skin looking golden and feeling summer-ready smooth. The raw sugar and fruit extract scrub treatment is infused with 24K gold (yes, you read correctly). You polish your jewelry, so why not your skin? We couldn’t think of a better way to reinvigorate your dry and post-winter skin than this.
Deals: As a Rosewood property, Sand Hill is creative with offering a number of seasonal deals based on its specific surroundings (i.e., you’ll find at least one Stanford-based deal at any given time). While Spring is more geared towards business travelers and university visitors, when summer comes, the property offers family-oriented hotel deals. With a pool like this—including pool service like frozen grapes and popsicles delivered to your lounge every hour—Sand Hill is an easy South Bay or San Jose staycation for families. Tip: You can find better deals on weekends than weekdays.
Rosewood Sand Hill Deal I: Stay at this property for as little as $215/night. We found this lowest room rate for the next two Friday nights (Mar. 12 and 19)! Since when does a Friday night hotel rate cost less than a midweek one?
