Two separate news stories came out recently, that tell me that I’ll be paying more for rooms in 2009. Why? Hotel rates will be going up a little more in 2009, because a portion of that, which are taxes, will be increasing.

MGM Mirage, the current owners, have sold the resort to Ruffin Acquisition, reports the Hotel Hotsheet. What does that mean for you, the hotel deal bargain hunter? Not much, at least for now.
Las Vegas is starving for your dollars right now, and Treasure Island has a few hotel deals and discounts up their sleeve still.

The folks over at boingboing have an interesting marketing ptich by a hotel over in, surprise, Amsterdam. The Hans Brinker Budget Hotel (which, sorry, DealBase does not list) says it
“…is proud to be dirty and carry a wide variety of bacteria.”
